I’m a freelance writer focused on bringing important stories to light. My investigative reporting has appeared in The New York Times, and I’ve written narrative features, profiles, and breaking news for Outside Magazine, The Seattle Times, Vice, GQ, Mashable, Alpinist, Deseret, and the Boulder Reporting Lab. My photos have appeared in places like coffee table books and the Wall Street Journal, and film projects I’ve worked on have shown at film festivals that include Tribeca, MountainFilm, and Banff.  

I grew up surrounded by the water, trees, and mountains of Washington State, and besides brief stints in California and New York City, I've stayed close to mountain ranges where I can spend my free time running, skiing, and climbing. I currently live in the foothills of the Rockies.
